As a higher educational institution for the visually impaired, in a society where technical innovation, informatization, and globalization are proceeding, our aim is to nurture high-level medical specialists who can cope with those changes flexibly. We also bring up experts of information technology who can contribute to health and welfare.
Department of Health
Students are expected to raise their compensation ability, e.g., information literacy and computer skills, to overcome their problems stemming from their visual impairments. Our goal is, however, that they are going to be sophisticated Acupuncturists or Physical Therapists who have an excellent insight into human nature and acquire accomplishments dealing with various situations.
Course of Acupuncture and Moxibustion
With the integration of Oriental and Western medicines, students study Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Manual Therapy Especially, through clinical education in the Medical Center attached to the Department, which has the latest diagnostic and testing equipment, the students are able to utilize their knowledge from a modern scientific point of view, and to learn in practice to become professional acupuncturists and therapists of moxibustion and manual therapy.

Course of Physical Therapy
The Course of Physical Therapy prepares high level programs for students to help patients gain the maximum performance following disease, injury or loss of limb. The goals are set so that students will integrate knowledge of basic sciences, as well as anatomy, physiology, pathology, kinesiology, human growth and development into the practice of physical therapy with a wide variety of therapeutic activities and techniques through individual guidance. The students are also encouraged to develop sensitivity of humanistic needs of patients and to gain a desire for treatment and responsibility for life-long professional growth during the program.

Special attention is paid for the visually impaired to gain accessibility to computers with the aid of assistive technologies. Subjects and practices from diverse Information Technologies (IT) and business management areas are provided for learning how to be specialists in industry and in office environments. A wide choice of learning plans is available, ranging from information science to business management.
